I’m still missing Tokyo so, so much. However, I’m in the midst of planning my next visit, when I’ll go to Tokyo solo.
We’ve also just agreed to spend next Christmas and New Year in Tokyo - something we’ve never done before. I’m all kinds of excited.
🎥 Watching
After finishing ‘Bad Sisters’, ‘Dune Prophecy’ and season four of the truly excellent ‘Only Murders in the Building’, I’m finally catching up on two series that have been consistently recommended to me for an age. ‘The Night Manager’ and ‘White Lotus’ (S1). I started the former while on the elliptical trainer in the gym and it really helped the time speed by. I tried the same with White Lotus last night and within 10mins there was cock and balls on the screen, making it less suitable for gym-based consumption LOL!
📚 Reading
On the comics front, I’m (still) revisiting the stellar Peter David’s run on ‘X-factor’ from about twenty years ago. Some of my favourite mutant characters, playing at private investigation.
🎧 Listening
I’ve started listening to the JPop playlist in Apple Music when in the office. The fact that very few tunes include English lyrics means I can really concentrate on work while simultaneously block out the ambient noise.
💻 Online
I’ve stepped away from using Instagram and Threads owing to Meta’s lurch to the authoritarian right. So my online life consists of a travel blog and a long-form personal blog (hosted on the excellent Pika).
For everyday socials, I use Bluesky, Mastodon and now Pixelfed.
I use Micro.blog to post to all three concurrently, when relevant.
