🇯🇵 Giving up on Japanese classes
I’ve tried to learn Japanese several times over the last few years. I’m determined to be able to navigate Japan in Japanese. But after several attempts, I’ve finally decided to give up on live classes. That doesn’t sound like the kind of thing someone who loves learning languages would say.

I returned to Japanese class yesterday, for the first time in three weeks, and it was a disaster.
I was so behind, it felt abysmal. I really need to knuckle down and do some serious studying and practice before next Monday’s class. I never want to look that clueless again! 😬

I’ve had a super productive morning I went into the office as soon as I was showered and dressed this morning. Yes, on a Saturday morning! I wanted to take advantage of an empty building to record some content for my podcast and YouTube channel. And what do you know, as long as nobody is …Packing up in the office, to head home and go to the gym.
I slacked off yesterday as I had to meet a deadline once I got back from Japanese class. But no excuses this evening!
Plus, I have a metric ton of Apple Vision Pro review videos to watch as I pump away on the elliptical.

Yes, this is a day late, but it’s been quite the week so I hope you’ll understand. Work I had a really, really good week at work. I tore through my task list and made great progress on some important podcast and YouTube work. Plus some lovely client projects and interest from potential …Another Monday has come around too quickly.
But on a positive note, I’m on my way to my Japanese class, which is always great fun. And good exercise for my brain.
Regularly stepping into “novice mind” is such a positive, worthwhile experience.
Japanese class was once again great fun.
Our teacher is really amazing. She manages to make complex grammar accessible and even enjoyable. She has a fantastic sense of humour and I always leave her classes with a smile.
Such a great way to spend a Monday evening.
Really looking forward to my Japanese class this evening.
Like a good boy, I’ve done all my homework and have been practicing daily. Though it’s just my luck that I seem to have one of the more difficult to pronounce nationalities (Irish) and occupations (psychologist) that we’re learning right now.
