๐ธ Loving this hotel room bed, but itโs time to get up, get breakfast and explore more of Tallinn. ๐ช๐ช
Today itโs all about the waterfront. And hopefully, a submarine! Plus more sunshine and blue skies.

Today itโs all about the waterfront. And hopefully, a submarine! Plus more sunshine and blue skies.
๐ช๐ช Time for a recap
We spent the afternoon wandering around Tallinn’s Old Town. And unlike a lot of cities that claim to have an ‘old town’, this one’s really old! And beautifully maintained. A delicious lunch in the sunshine broke our journey, along with a cheeky beer later in the afternoon.
I’m now back in the hotel, sipping a beer in the Executive Lounge and making plans for this evening. And eyeing up the delicious buffet that will keep me going for the next few hours. I’ve fallen a little in love with Tallinn and can’t wait to see more of it tomorrow.
๐ธ Exploring Tallinn is thirsty work!
โ๏ธ So far, absolutely loving Tallinn! ๐ช๐ช
โ๏ธ My chariot awaits!
โ๏ธ Taking one of these bad boys to Tallinn.
The flight is under 20mins so itโll do just fine. Weโll be up and down before we know it.
โ๏ธ Next stop: Tallinn.
My passport is in surprisingly good shape considered how much it gets used! ๐ฎ๐ช
โ๏ธ At Helsinki Airport, awaiting our flight to Tallinn. This is such a clean, well-organised, and easy to navigate airport! Nice to be back after a couple of years.
๐ธ Last night’s on board cocktail from Finnair. A surprisingly tasty pre-made affair.
โ๏ธ The journey so far…
We made it to Helsinki last night! Lovely Finnair cabin crew and a tasty cocktail made the journey fly by. Plus two episodes of the new Doctor Who series. Though I’ve had softer airline seats and, after 2hrs 50mins, it was beginning to take it toll!
We stayed overnight at the airport Hilton, which was a little like a time capsule from the 1980s! But absolutely fine for one night at the airport. Two hours from now, we’ll be on our Finnair flight to Tallinn and the start of our long weekend in Estonia.
The sun is out and I had a great night’s sleep. Life is good!
๐ธ Working from home this morning and taking in the (slightly cloudy) view from here.
Shortly heading to Heathrow to catch a flight to Helsinki, from where we’ll fly to Tallinn for my first ever visit to Estonia. Very excited indeed.
๐ธ This morning, I restocked the most important piece of equipment in my office. โ๏ธ Crisis averted.
๐ธ Up in Oxfordshire for an overnight work trip and this is the view from my hotel bedroom.
๐ธ Some really beautiful London skies this evening…
โ๏ธ Working on my tan and catching up with all my podcasts from earlier this week.
๐ธ Enjoying brunch out on the balcony
Big, complex plan for today: catch some rays on the balcony.
And that’s about it. I’m on the road again for work tomorrow, so I’m taking it nice and easy today, while I can.
๐ฑ An awful night’s sleep, punctuated by the worst possible nightmares.
Seems like each time I went back to sleep, I slipped into another awful (imaginary) situation. Robbery, mugging, job loss… one after another. Sitting here with a coffee, reminding myself none of it was real.
๐บ Some delicious beers in the very welcome afternoon sun, at our local, the Munich Cricket Club.
๐โโ๏ธ This morningโs effort. A very tough 4km.
๐ธ Lovely to be back in London. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.
Back from a hectic few days at a psychology conference in Sheffield. My brain is full of new knowledge and ideas, and my heart is full of gratitude for getting to spend quality time with good friends.
That just leaves my liver, which is in a very sorry state indeed.
๐ Enjoying a chicken katsu curry here in Sheffield
Accompanied by a delicious IPA from the Purity Brewing Co.
Some last-minute checking of my packing list before I head off to a three-day conference later today. I’m always afraid I’ll forget something really important. But I’m going to Sheffield, not the North Pole, so I’m sure I can buy anything I leave behind…
Currently packing for yet another trip - this time to go to a conference in Sheffield until Friday.
Nothing but wall to wall psychologists! ๐ฌ It’s the annual occupational psychology conference, organised by the British Psychological Society. And it looks like I’m going to be a busy bee.
I’m a discussant in a panel session on evidence-based practice, and I’m also co-facilitating a workshop on coaching skills. But that’s all on one day, so for the rest, I’m free to go to the sessions I’m interested in.
It’s always nice to catch up with my peers - some of whom I only ever see in person at this particular conference. I’ve already booked in two dinners with colleagues for just that kind of catching up. And thankfully I’ll be home by 5pm Friday.
And if previous conferences are anything to go by, slightly tired and worse for wear.
