Beer appreciation: Siren’s Cacao & Hazelnut Broken Dream

I picked up a can of this on impulse while visiting family in Scotland. The Tesco in Dunfermline usually has an excellent selection of craft beers, so I always grab a few when I’m in town and try something new.

I am so glad I did. This was spectacularly good and I’m keen to buy more at the earliest opportunity. It lived up to its description and more – a full, rich and complex stout. Not overly sweet, but you could definitely taste and cacao and hazelnuts.

I’m a big fan of stouts, especially in the winter. And seeing as Dry January passed without incident, I have some catching up to do!
