Yesterday was my birthday and, as is my habit, I took the day off work. There’s not a lot you can do celebration-wise on a dreary, storm-lashed Monday in February, so I decided to focus on self-care.
My other half had gifted me a pedicure at a local salon, so I headed down there after a lie-in and some delicious coffee. I haven’t had a pedicure for yonks, even though it’s usually much needed due to running.
What followed was a delicious ninety-minute session of pampering and relaxation.
After a lovely soak, the pedicure technician (is that a title?) worked her magic with a series of buffing, clipping, massaging and the inevitable sanding down of my hoof-like heels. It was the perfect experience for a relaxing birthday.

What came out the other side was a set of presentable, beach-ready feet – I just need the weather and location to show them off! I definitely won’t leave it so long until the next one.
It’s good to make time for yourself; block-book that calendar! I’m enjoying picking up your recent posts; I hope the move is going well. I’m on Week 3 of my time-out; so far it’s been guests, a week in the Canarys, and more guests. So yesterday and today feel like the first ‘real’ days of not working. It’s hard to get my head around it, it’s a slow process!
