Considering resurrection

It’s been months and months since my last blog post and, to be honest, I haven’t really thought about the blog all that much.

But then, my annual WordPress subscription was charged to my Amex and, once again, they had my attention. I suppose, if I tried hard enough, I could get it refunded, but on the other hand, it’s the perfect excuse to get back into the writing habit.

I’m wondering what to do with the site.

One option is to ‘nuke it from orbit’ and start over. Regular readers will know how much I love a ‘blank slate’. I could pivot to topics more likely to get hits, but also more likely to result in an online argument. Politics, anyone?

Or, I could simply continue with much less of a focus, except for the occasional pining note to Japan, effusive summary about a new gadget or update on a meal I’ve eaten far too quickly. Why mess with such a successful recipe?!

Brace yourselves. Maybe it’s time to resurrect MacPsy.ch.

I think it’s all about what _really_ compels you to write a blog and keep it going.

If you think you just want to get the blog hit count up, and blog hits aren’t _really_ fundamental to “your core”, then it’s going to cost you in effort and focus.

If, on the other hand, you _must_ write, however trivial the topic, then you’re a writer; the work and focus is no real cost, because it’s what comes from your natural creativity. That will come out in your writing and your readers will pick up on it; it’s what people really like!

Anyway, best wishes to you and the boss for 2022!
