Well, you can’t win ’em all. I’m half-way through today’s Advent beer and have to say I’m not a massive fan.
It’s not terrible and I’ll finish it. But it’s not as nice as some of the other IPAs they produce. Hoppy Christmas, according to Brewdog:
“Buckle up for this seasonal Simcoe sled ride. A fruity festive fellow that delivers an all out Blitzen of citrus flavour by the sack load. Citrus and tropical fruits on the Red nose. Tangy citrus, papaya and pineapple Dancer across the palate. All resting on a firm malty under carriage. A happy but bitter end awaits.”
Actually, I think that’s it. It’s possibly too bitter for me, which is wild considering some of the IPAs that I love. I don’t actually get all the citrus that’s mentioned, but here is a wallop of something peppery which just doesn’t sit well with me.
Anyway, not to worry. Plenty more beers where that came from.
