I know, I know. I wasn’t going to get one. The iPad Magic Keyboard is beautiful, but really quite expensive.
I’ll have to blame TheFrankFlyer, who pointed out a special offer from American Express to take £100 off purchases from the online Apple Store. Add to that his corporate discount, and the keyboard suddenly became a lot more reasonable.
So he ordered one for me this morning.
I figure that it’ll be a long time before Apple discount the keyboard to anything like these levels. So price is one motivator. But if I’m brutally honest I was getting tired of the lag between typing on my existing Apple keyboard and content appearing on my iPad’s screen.
I’ve had a lot of work writing to do in the last couple of weeks and the delay has become quite noticeable. Even when compared to my four year old MacBook.
So, in about a week or so, I’ll be writing these posts (and a lot more) via the Magic Keyboard and hopefully finding it just as magical as all those reviews say it is.
And if it’s not, it’s going back. I don’t need more unused tech cluttering up my home, especially when I’m focused on clearing the place out!
