So here’s something that is a firm fixture on our itinerary in Japan: the Iwatayama monkey park in Kyoto. As if I wasn’t excited enough at the prospect of visiting Kyoto, there’s a park (at the top of a hill) where you can feed monkeys.
And be robbed by monkeys, if the TripAdvisor reviews are anything to go by.
My favourite review is:
Monkeys everywhere. Monkeys overhead. Monkeys down below. Monkeys behind you. Monkeys hiding. Monkeys watching you. Terrifying.
Guess you shouldn’t have gone to the monkey park, then.
I’m not sure it’s possible to convey my excitement at the prospect of getting this close to monkeys and interacting with them.
I believe the technical term is “Squeee!“
